I’ve recently been working near the ex-Erie grade crossing over Freedom Street (Ohio Route 88) in northeastern Ravenna. When I stepped outside to go home this afternoon, I heard the ABC’s whistle close by, and knew the train would soon be headed west — toward my neck of the woods. …So I stopped at home, grabbed my camcorder, went to the bike & hike trailhead at Cleveland Road, and just caught the little train as it passed toward and then beyond Diamond Street… The Akron Barberton Cluster Railway is an Akron area switching carrier owned by the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway, and it’s great to see them in our town!
