Nepali Kitchen

Nepali Kitchen has imported the cuisine of Nepal to North Hill. The restaurant, which opened about a month ago, offers a number of signature dishes, like momos (Nepali dumplings), gravy-style curry and mango lassi, a refreshing drink that tastes much like a smoothee.

Hem Rai, 26, co-owner of Nepali Kitchen along with his friend Mon Frere, and his wife and brother, was a restaurateur in Nepal, but this is his first U.S. business. Rai and his colleagues moved here from Dayton, and plan to revitalize the buildings and lots surrounding Nepali Kitchen, a building that was formerly a soul food restaurant.

Rai, who moved to the United States in 2012, says he’s pleased with the North Hill neighborhood. “It’s awesome,” he adds. “We’ve got a lot of people here from our country.” They’re also working on getting a liquor license, and expanding the restaurant’s current space in order to host more customers, along with community events.

Nepali Kitchen is located 399 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave. For more information about the restaurant, call (330) 631-1112 or visit them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nepali-Kitchen/1411659509149097?fref=ts.
