Welcome to Rendino’s Pizza

This is a Family that Knows Pizza
Vincent Rendino and Joann Lenze met and married in Cuyahoga Falls, lived most of their lives in West Akron, but both of their families had emigrated from Arquata Del Tronto, Italy.
Joann Rendino, with cooking skills steeped in her Italian heritage, opened her first pizza restaurant in 1960. Gino’s, which was originally located at the intersection of Copley and East Avenue, was where Joann perfected her recipes and restaurant management skills while raising three children.
Her restaurant became a family run operation when Joann Rendino added her sister Adele Zimbardi as a partner. Joann and Adele not only made great business partners, they were lifelong friends. The daily responsibilities of the business kept many other family members busy on a rotating basis, which only strengthened the family bonds. This is an extended family that still meets regularly and remains close to this day.
Joann Rendino also encouraged her brother Joe Lenze to open a pizza shop. He took her advice and opened Marie’s in Wadsworth in 1970. Marie’s was named after Joe’s beloved wife.
Rendino’s Pizza was opened at its current location at 5197 Manchester Road on March 7, 1975.
Patty Rendino, one of Vincent and Joann Rendino’s three children, has been working at the New Franklin Pizza Shop since its opening and is the sole proprietor of the restaurant today.

Rendino’s Pizza
Patty Rendino has maintained the superb quality and extraordinary recipes that her mom perfected over 50 years ago. Rendino’s uses only the highest quality of cheeses and meats and uses a stone hearth oven for baking.
Cleanliness is a major consideration in Patty Rendino’s operations, and the County Health Department has complimented her restaurant for its sanitary conditions.
Patty Rendino is proud of her long standing relationships with her restaurant’s suppliers. Many of those relationships go back over 37 years, and the result is Rendino’s ability to serve consistently high quality products. Rendino’s works with Frank Cianciola & Son, Orlando Baking Company, Atlantic Foods, A-Z Paper Box and Postal Plus.
Campioni pepperoni, hand mixed sausage, Wisconsin provolone cheese and hand-edged dough baked daily in a stone hearth oven… this is just part of what makes eating Rendino pizza a culinary delight.

Not Just a Pizza Joint
Rendino’s has a full take-out menu which includes pasta dishes, Italian subs and antipasto. Mary Cantor, a long time family friend also from the West Akron area, makes the antipasto fresh daily as well as the sublime Rendino’s Homemade Italian dressing (which is now available as an ala carte item).
