. …….In Lansing, Michigan, where I live, the M78, NORTHSIDE, and STAR LITE DRIVE IN THEATER sites are now just empty lots. No physical signs exist that show you that a drive in once existed, except perhaps a fence or two, but only real drive in nuts know about that. The LANSING DRIVE IN site is now a state office building (boring!), and the CREST? Well, that’s simply a parking lot for the church that performed an exorcism and tore it down (See related story, it’s a doozy!). In other words, nothing remains but memories. The lucky folks who live in the small farming community of Galion, Ohio, are more fortunate. in this short clip, you’ll visit a soy bean field that once was home to a three screen drive in theater called the GALION. All three screens are still intact, as well as a very cool and well preserved snack bar. Abandoned drive in sites that have found a new use but preserve these historic structures allow passerbys to glance over and fondly remember better days. I sure wish my area had a screen tower or snack bar left to look at. We applaud the farmers who have allowed portions of this magnificent drive in theater to remain.
